Great buyReview date: 2010-09-04 Rating: 10 out of 10Brilliant idea, works well, had some issues with the night light until I realised you could turn it off. Fab product, has changed my life, as my toddler now gets up (at least comes out of her room, she's probably awake before the sun comes up) when the sun comes up, for us thats 7pm. I love this product, it's easy to work, and works for little ones that dont no what time it is. My daughter has, on the odd occasion, come in to tell us it's morning when in fact it's an hour after her clock has been set, nice to no she can sleep in if she wants (and us). Also, her step brother, who stays every other weekend, now also waits for the sun to come up...heaven!
ReviewsPeace at lastReview date: 2010-08-30 Rating: 10 out of 10Wow I'm so pleased we purchased this clock I heard lots about it but never thought it would be as good as this, our son has asd and this is a fantasic visual aid for sleep, it only took a few nights to get it right and now he knows the story inside out and does not come out of his room until the sun comes up on his clock he then comes into us to tell us the sun is up. Would recommend to anyone having trouble with early risers.
ClockReview date: 2010-08-29 Rating: 6 out of 10Well all I can say is that it didn't work with our wee one and although she knows that she isn't supposed to get up until the sun comes up she never lasts the pace and refuses to go back to bed even when the sun hasn't risen on the clock yetGreat idea!Review date: 2010-08-22 Rating: 8 out of 10The Gro-clock is a fantastic idea. My son is just under 2 and it's not been completely successful with him as I think he might be just that little bit too young to totally crasp the concept, but it has certainly gone a long way to helping. He loves saying night-night to the sun and hello to the star at bedtime and he gets happily into bed once he sees the star. In the morning it's a little more tricky...he will often still come into our room whenever he wakes up, but I take him straight back and tell him to wait til the sun comes up, which he 'usually' does. Ithen hear him running along the hallway shouting 'sun up'. I still have it set quite early at 6:30, but I'm going to try to add a few minutes on each day to gradually move him to 7:00 if I can!
Some reviews mentioned the light being too bright but I haven't had a problem, there are quite a few levels of brightness (as well as the light being completely off) and I have it set on the lowest, which is easy to view, but certainly doesn't light up his room much at all. The only 2 things I have to say against it (which aren't really that big a deal) are that I think it would work better from about 2 and a half up, and also it would be helpful if it could run on batteries too so that I could move it around the room or even take it camping! Otherwise a great product.Excellent productReview date: 2010-08-16 Rating: 10 out of 10Would definitely recommend. Our boy had spent the short summer nights confused about why he wasn't allowed up when the sun rose at about 5am. The clock has been great as he now understands and waits for the sun on the clock to come up before coming through to wake us up!
Also, the clock gives off a lot of light. This is great for our boy because he does not like the dark so the clock is a perfect night light. However, if your child needed a dark room to sleep this could be an issue.
In summary, for us the clock was effective and we now get an extra hour or two of sleep in the morning. Well worth the money!
